ECOLAR HOME
Konstanz, Germany
This sustainable energy plus residence produces 3x more energy than it consumes and was designed to highest aesthetic and comfort standards.
The building was designed and developed by Team ECOLAR from the HTWG Konstanz as part of the Solar Decathlon 2012, which took place in Madrid, Spain. This international student competition comprises 10 contests and challenges the teams to design and build highly efficient and innovative buildings solely powered by renewable energy.
Our Founding Partner Noémi was leading the Sustainability & Innovation team through the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) certification process, which included Life Cycle Assessment, Energy Performance Certification and Blower-Door-Test, among others. The building got DGNB Platinum certified.
