This architectural project of Equinox is situated in the idyllic scenery of the hills of Pilisszántó, 30 km north of Budapest. The primary aim was to create a generous yet simplistic, budget-friendly residence.

We applied our environmentally conscious design principles to optimise the building's layout, massing, and energy efficiency while avoiding the need for costly technical equipment. The two-story building features secondary functions along the northern facade, with all living, dining, and kitchen areas opening up to the garden and its scenic surroundings.

Extensive research into various structural materials (CLT, brick and concrete slabs, limestone and concrete slabs) revealed that CLT was the preferred option from environmental, budget, and time perspectives. However, the client ultimately chose limestone brick walls and concrete slabs. To partially meet energy needs, a photovoltaic system was installed on the southern roof.
